How does one affix a mudflap to a fender like this?

Bought universal-fit mudflaps, but 3 of 4 of my fenders don’t have liners. Oppo, how would you go about installing mudflaps?

The flaps in question come with self-tapping screws and are designed to be used with the stock fender liner mounting points. Unfortunately, my liners are either (a) nonexistent or (b) in the way of intalling the flaps properly:

The above driver’s-side liner would put the mudflap at a diagonal angle, possibly affecting steering clearance.

I think I will have to cut the top edge of the driver’s-side mudflap, but I’m not really sure how to mount the rest of them.

Any fastener/mounting material you all can recommend? I’m not sure self-tapping screw vs. steel fender is a battle I want to witness.

If you have enough length I’d mount them with the old fender liner points, I dont know where youd mount them further in though.

My passenger-side front fender (first picture) is dented in such a way that none of the stock mounting points even overlap at all with the mud flap.

To mount it low enough to be useful means that it won’t reach the stock holes.

The Rally Armor universal flaps are much bigger and you just drill holes in it wherever you need. Worked well on my Neon and has survived a few rallycrosses.

Honestly i have no idea. Self tapping screws seem to work everywhere

Just a suggestion, to start with my mudflaps are fitted to my car, but rally armor flaps I have just mounts them to a big sheet metal L bracket. You may need to make a bracket, affix the bracket to your stock holes, and affix the flap to the bracket.

Seems to hold up just fine on my car.

Looks like self tapping screw into the fender would work
